After an era of COVID-19 and nearly a year of quarantine, we have become quite adept at finding creative ways to stay busy indoors. Thankfully, there’s a sense of old fashioned normalcy in handling a snow in. I’ll take that over a pandemic any day. If you’re snowed in and you have all your work and homework done, we at Lucas Howard have compiled a small list of things that can occupy your time while you wait for the snow to thaw.
Watch some TV
If you have that show on your queue that you’ve been meaning to watch, now is the time! So grab some popcorn, a cold drink (or hot), and have yourself a sit down for a good old fashioned binge watch!
Some cooking and baking
Now would be the time to try that recipe you’ve had in the back of your mind. Spending time in the kitchen is always a great way to pass the time, especially if you are multitasking. So write down that recipe and give it a whirl!
Read a good book
If binge watching isn’t your thing, a good book can go a long way. Books can take awhile to finish, and most people take weeks, if not months, to finish just one. A snow day might be the perfect opportunity to burn through the pages that have been collecting dust on your nightstand. So turn on that fire, grab your favorite blanket, snuggle in, and enjoy yourself!
Do some chores
No doubt this’ll be the least fun thing to do on this list, but those chores don’t finish themselves unfortunately. If you can’t go anywhere and all your work is done, perhaps now is the time. Despite the arduous hurdle of trying to be productive, it’s important to note that one always feels accomplished when those chores are finally done!
Call a friend or family member
Whether a video call or a simple phone call, perhaps it’s time to check in on that friend or family member and catch up for a bit. Everyone is leading a life and everyone is having their ups and downs in this unique era we are living in. Don’t forget to occasionally show someone that you care about them!
